RussiaWatch online live stream TV channel Soyuz
TV channel Soyuz holds a special place in Russian broadcasting: it is the first Orthodox TV channel in the country, founded by the Yekaterinburg diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church. Its first day on air was 31 January 2005, and in 2025 the channel marked twenty years of broadcasting from its studio in Yekaterinburg, reaching viewers across Russia and abroad, including those who watch TV online.
The channel exists as a viewer-supported project: donations from the audience keep the signal on air via satellite and cable networks across the country. From the beginning its declared goal has been to create and show spiritual programmes for people who are only discovering the faith.
Liturgies and conversations about faith
Live broadcasts of divine services from the churches of Yekaterinburg anchor the weekly grid. The best-known talk format is Besedy s batyushkoy (Conversations with a Father), where priests answer viewers' questions about church life; the head of the channel, Hegumen Dimitry Baybakov, regularly appears on air to speak about the broadcaster's work. Documentaries on Orthodox history, children's blocks and programmes for family viewing complete the live television schedule.
Where the channel streams
The official website combines the programme guide with a live broadcast page, the signal is distributed through a dedicated CDN player, and the YouTube channel publishes recordings, so the live streaming feed is available on any device.
