The City of Palms keeps its citizens in the loop through CFM TV Channel 98, the government access station of Fort Myers, Florida. Broadcasting 24 hours a day, the channel covers city business from a studio inside City Hall, and residents who prefer to watch TV online can open the same live feed from the city's website.

Fort Myers was incorporated in 1886 and grew famous as the winter retreat of Thomas Edison, whose riverside estate still anchors the city's historic district. CFM-TV carries that civic heritage into the modern era: the station airs gavel-to-gavel coverage of Fort Myers City Council meetings, planning board hearings and community workshops, all produced at the broadcast center on Second Street downtown. On cable, the channel rides Xfinity channel 98 and Hotwire's Fision platform on channels 91 and 1611.

Council Meetings and City Programs for Southwest Florida

Regular council meetings stream live, preceded by Inside the Agenda previews where city leaders walk viewers through upcoming votes. Between meetings, the rotation fills with public safety updates from the Fort Myers police and fire departments, utility and public works explainers, parks and recreation features and coverage of riverfront events. Missed a meeting? Recordings are archived on the city's Vimeo page, but the live television feed keeps citizens plugged in as decisions happen.
