Watch online live stream Canal 8 Rivera

Canal 8 Rivera is a regional television channel broadcasting from Rivera, the northern Uruguayan city joined street by street to the Brazilian town of Santana do Livramento. Made for a bilingual frontier community, the station follows daily life across the department and is a natural companion for residents who watch live TV to stay close to what happens at home.

News From Both Sides of the Border

Local politics sets the pace of the newsroom. Press conferences held in Rivera by national parties, decisions of departmental authorities and debates over public services are filmed and aired, giving space to senators, mayors and government officials visiting the region. Social themes - pensioners' rights, healthcare, the prison system - receive the same attention as party affairs, and the local news coverage keeps a distinctly civic tone.

Culture, Sport and the Community Calendar

Away from the political beat, the channel documents what the department celebrates: tributes to Uruguayan literary figures, concerts, school events and religious festivities all find their place in the weekly lineup. Sports coverage follows the region's clubs and fixtures, while recorded segments reach viewers who prefer free online TV to a traditional set.

For emigrants and for families split between the two countries, Canal 8 Rivera live streaming keeps the connection alive, carrying press conferences, commemorations and weekend matches to any screen, near or far. A small station with a clear mission: to mirror the daily rhythm of a frontier city, hour by hour.
