Canal Terrassa is the municipal television channel of Terrassa, a city in the Valles Occidental comarca of Catalonia, just north of Barcelona. Broadcasting in HD on DTT channel 45 across the county, it serves neighbors who value hyperlocal coverage as much as those who follow the city through online TV from further away.

The station first went on air on January 17, 1986 under the name TVT, born from a mix of political will and the enthusiasm of residents eager for a medium of their own. Today it is run by the Societat Municipal de Comunicacio de Terrassa, a city-owned company that also operates Radio Municipal Terrassa 95.2 FM and the Cinema Catalunya, a multimedia group of more than thirty professionals built on proximity, rigor and pluralism.

Municipal Media With Deep Local Roots

The daily grid revolves around city life: council debates, the local economy, culture and neighborhood stories, with the news bulletin L'informatiu anchoring the day's coverage. Magazine formats such as Telo de Fons and Sense Filtres give residents a voice, and the discussion forum Debat Obert tackles the questions Terrassa is actually arguing about, while live TV streaming also carries municipal plenary sessions to anyone interested.

Hockey, Mountains and a Touch of Cinema

Sports coverage leans on La Porteria, a nod to the city's proud field hockey heritage, with En Joc rounding up the weekend's action. Travelers get Caminant per Catalunya and Aventuristic, party-goers have Gaudeix la Festa, and film lovers meet at Cinema Club. The trophy shelf holds a Premi Miramar for best local television and a Premi TAC for Ingravids, the only TV program in Catalonia devoted to dance.

Canal Terrassa live streaming turns any screen into a front-row seat for everything the city does, from festival coverage to the evening bulletin.
