Televisión Pública is Argentina's national public television network, broadcasting from Buenos Aires to every corner of the country and to audiences who prefer to watch TV online. Launched on October 17, 1951 as Canal 7, it was the first television station in Argentina and a pioneer of broadcasting in Latin America, blending news, culture, sports and entertainment under a public-service mission.

Seven Decades on the Argentine Airwaves

Few broadcasters in the region can match this history. The station opened in 1951 and has accompanied national life ever since, from presidential addresses to World Cup campaigns. Renamed Televisión Pública in the 2000s, the network leaned into an educational and cultural profile while keeping mass appeal - football filled prime time in the Fútbol para Todos era - and the schedule still balances information with lighter formats. Mornings open with magazine shows, midday and evening hours belong to news blocks, and late slots hold series, documentaries and film screenings. Live television on this frequency also carries major national events, from legislative sessions to open-air festivals.

Newsroom Staples and Kitchen Classics

The backbone of the daily lineup is TP Noticias, with editions throughout the day and correspondents in every province. Daytime viewers know Cocineros Argentinos, the long-running cooking show that turns regional recipes into national television, while the debate program Desiguales gathers journalists and analysts to argue over the country's hottest topics. Together these broadcasts span service journalism, entertainment and political conversation on one frequency.

Weekends bring movies, sports specials and cultural events, and Televisión Pública live streaming makes the whole grid available far beyond the antenna. From breaking news to a classic feature, audiences can tune in free of charge from anywhere.
