CRTV, Cameroon Radio Television, is the state-owned national broadcaster of Cameroon, headquartered in Yaounde. Created in 1987 by merging Cameroon Television with the national radio service, it covers all ten regions of the country and stays the most widely received signal for followers of online television in Cameroon.
Television in the country began experimentally in March 1985 and went fully on air on 23 December 1985, joining forces with radio two years later. Broadcasting in French and English, CRTV mirrors the bilingual character of the nation; Charles Ndongo has led the corporation as general manager since 2016. Home-produced documentaries, magazine programs and news analysis share the grid with imported drama series from Asia and Brazil.
One Signal for Ten Regions
The daily schedule opens with morning magazines and builds toward the flagship evening journal in both official languages, followed by films, serials and studio debates. Sister services extend the offer: rolling headlines on CRTV News and dedicated match coverage on CRTV Sport, both carried alongside the main channel.
From the Evening Journal to Match Night
Reporting teams across the country feed the national bulletins, and the biggest audiences of the year gather for presidential addresses and Africa Cup of Nations football. Viewers who prefer to watch live TV rather than wait for the evening edition get a continuous feed from Yaounde.
CRTV live streaming keeps the national picture within reach of the diaspora as well - the same bulletin and the same football night, wherever the connection happens to be.
