RTSH 1 is the flagship channel of Radio Televizioni Shqiptar, the public broadcaster of Albania, and a natural first stop for viewers who watch TV online. News, sport, culture and national celebration: the country's oldest television channel still sets the rhythm of public life from its Tirana studios.

The broadcaster's story began in 1938, when Radio Tirana first went on air, and television pictures followed in 1960. Publicly funded and broadcasting in Albanian around the clock, RTSH 1 remains the screen where state ceremonies, election nights and great national occasions are followed by the whole country at once.

What Fills the Albanian Airwaves

The daily grid balances news bulletins with sport and cultural magazines, documentaries on Albanian history and nature, talk shows on public affairs and family entertainment in the evenings. The lineup keeps the public-service remit visible at every hour, from morning information blocks to late-night discussion.

Fixed Points of the Week

The pulse of the day belongs to Lajmet, the main bulletins returning with reports from Tirana and the regions. Football followers know Super Gol, the roundup of every round of the Albanian championship, while online television audiences abroad join the live matches that turn weekends into a family ritual. Every December the country gathers for Festivali i Këngës, the song festival staged since 1962 whose winner traditionally carries Albania's hopes to Eurovision.

RTSH 1 live streaming keeps the national channel within reach far beyond the country's borders: the broadcast is free to follow on modern devices, without cable and without a subscription. For the Albanian diaspora from Italy to the United States, it remains the simplest way to hear the language, the headlines and the songs of home.
