VTM 2 is a Flemish television channel from Belgium, owned by DPG Media and positioned as the entertainment-driven companion to the main VTM network. Broadcasting under its current name since August 31, 2020, it suits viewers who watch TV online free and want reality formats, comedy and imported series rather than flagship news.

The station's roots run deep: it launched on January 31, 1995 as Ka2, the second Flemish private channel, arriving one day ahead of rival VT4. Over the decades it passed through the identities Kanaal 2, KANAALTWEE, 2BE and Q2 before joining the VTM brand family, shifting its focus with each rebrand but always targeting a younger Flemish audience.

Reality Roots and Flemish Flavour

The modern grid leans on unscripted television, Flemish humour and familiar faces. Daytime slots lean on reruns and lifestyle formats, while prime time is reserved for premieres and the channel's own productions, with American series and film screenings rounding out the week. It is a lineup built for relaxed live television rather than appointment viewing.

The Format That Made the Channel

The turning point came in the KANAALTWEE era, when the station aired the first Flemish adaptation of Big Brother and scored the highest ratings in its history. That reality DNA never left: dating experiments, competition formats and fly-on-the-wall series still anchor the evening schedule today.

VTM 2 live streaming keeps this mix of reality, comedy and drama within easy reach across Flanders and beyond. Whether it is a weekday premiere or a weekend marathon, the broadcast stays available whenever the mood to tune in strikes.
