OCTDC is the District of Columbia's Office of Cable Television, Film, Music and Entertainment, the city agency better known today as OCTFME that runs Washington's public, educational and government channels. From its studios in the District it produces and cablecasts city programming around the clock, and residents can stream TV online through the agency's digital platforms.

The office regulates cable service in the capital while also functioning as a production house: it manages the city's PEG channels, supports local filmmakers with grants and permits, and promotes Washington's music and creative industries under the Entertain DC banner.

Three channels carry the load: DCC, the District Council Channel, covers legislative sessions gavel to gavel; DCN, the District of Columbia Network, programs city agency content and community features; and DKN, the District Knowledge Network, focuses on education. Live television from these channels keeps council hearings, mayoral announcements and school board meetings visible to every resident.

Regular productions include coverage of Council of the District of Columbia legislative meetings, public service campaigns for city agencies, and showcases for local artists and musicians. Election seasons bring candidate forums and ballot information produced with the Board of Elections.

An OCTDC live stream presence on the agency's site and YouTube channel carries hearings and specials beyond the cable footprint. For a city that doubles as a media capital, the District's own channels remain the most direct view of local government.
