Teleacras is the historic television station of Agrigento, on Sicily's southern coast, on air since December 31, 1975 and still followed today by viewers who watch live TV online. Even its name is a tribute to the city: Akragas was the ancient Greek name of Agrigento.
Founded on New Year's Eve 1975, it ranks among the oldest private broadcasters in Sicily and today occupies channel 88 on digital terrestrial, with a newsroom that has covered the life of the province for half a century.
Agrigento's Newsroom Since 1975
The heart of the schedule is the videogiornale - the daily news bulletin covering cronaca, politics, current affairs, culture and sport across the province, complemented by editorials and local magazines. Live television keeps Agrigento's public life on air as it happens, day after day.
In the Shadow of the Valley of the Temples
The station's backyard is one of the world's great archaeological landscapes: the Valley of the Temples, a UNESCO site, along with the Scala dei Turchi cliffs and the beaches of the Agrigento coast. Local festivals, horse shows and cultural events in the valley regularly feature in its coverage.
Teleacras live streaming keeps this half-century-old voice of southern Sicily available everywhere - for Agrigentini abroad and for anyone who wants an unfiltered look at the island's daily life.
