Alforat TV is an Iraqi satellite news channel broadcasting from Baghdad to viewers across Iraq and the Arab world. Named after the Euphrates, the great river of Mesopotamia, it has been on air since 2004 and remains a familiar screen for anyone who likes to watch live TV with an Iraqi perspective on events.

Launched in the turbulent years that reshaped Iraqi media after 2003, the station built its identity on speed and presence: correspondents in the capital and the provinces, studios that stay on the air through breaking events, and a promise summed up in its slogan that the news comes first. Satellite distribution carries the signal far beyond Iraq's borders.

Around the Clock from Baghdad

The schedule is anchored by continuous news bulletins running through the day, interrupted whenever events demand live coverage of what is happening in Baghdad and beyond. Political developments, security, the economy and social affairs dominate the grid, with reports from correspondents across the country feeding each new edition.

Bulletins and Debates That Set the Agenda

Around the bulletins, the channel schedules political talk shows and analytical programs where guests from Iraqi public life argue over the questions of the moment. These discussion formats give viewers who follow online television the context behind the headlines, while documentary segments look back at the country's recent history and its challenges.

For audiences following Iraq from abroad, the Alforat TV live stream keeps the channel within reach on any screen: a direct line from the streets and studios of Baghdad to viewers everywhere, day and night, free of charge.
