KCTV Channel 20 is the local information channel of KCTV Jeju Broadcasting, the cable operator serving South Korea's Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. Aimed squarely at island residents, it delivers community news and everyday announcements that national networks overlook, and it is increasingly followed through live TV online by Jeju natives living away from home.

KCTV was established in February 1994 as Jeju's general cable broadcaster and began regular transmissions in May 1995, taking its current name in 1997. The company runs two local services: the main channel on position 7 and the dedicated information channel on position 20, which started regular broadcasting on 15 March 2010. Headquarters are in Jeju City, with a branch office in Seogwipo covering the south of the island.

An Island Bulletin Board That Never Sleeps

Much of the airtime works like a public notice board: wedding and obituary announcements, municipal information and service alerts sit alongside coverage of politics, the tourism economy and island culture. The newsroom also produces bulletins in English and Chinese for Jeju's international visitors, while the programming grid is rounded out with documentaries about fishing villages and volcanic landscapes, all reachable on online television without a cable subscription.

Programs Spoken in the Jeju Way

The channel's most distinctive output celebrates the island's own dialect, with shows such as KCTV Jejueo News and the quiz favorite Challenge Quiz Camp. Magazine formats like Inside Jeju and Jeju-ing travel to hidden corners of the province, and language series teach tourism English and Chinese to local workers in the hospitality trade.

For anyone with ties to the island, KCTV Channel 20 live streaming offers a direct line to Jeju's daily life, keeping the dialect, the notices and the neighborhood stories within reach wherever viewers happen to be.
