Gulf Coast News is the local news service for Fort Myers, Naples and the whole of Southwest Florida, bringing the region's NBC and ABC affiliates together under one newsroom. For residents who watch TV online, it is the fastest way to follow what is happening along the coast.

The operation grew out of WBBH, the NBC station that first signed on in 1968 and spent decades known to cable viewers simply as NBC2. Owned by Hearst Television alongside its ABC sister station run by Montclair Communications, it adopted the Gulf Coast News identity in February 2025, putting the region's name ahead of channel numbers.

Where the Coast Turns When Weather Approaches

Reporters cover Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, Cape Coral, Lehigh Acres, Estero, Bonita Springs and Marco Island, chasing breaking news, crime, politics and high school football. When a hurricane spins up in the Gulf, the newsroom shifts to continuous storm coverage, tracking landfall and recovery until the all-clear - live television at its most essential.

From Sunrise Editions to the Late Report

Headline newscasts bookend the day with weather forecasts and the evening's top stories, while the Gulf Coast News Now streaming desk fills the hours between with live press conferences, developing stories and community events. The ABC NowCast stream keeps a continuous feed rolling for viewers who want coverage without waiting for the next scheduled bulletin.

Gulf Coast News live streaming carries the newscasts free of charge, so Southwest Florida can stay informed at home, at work or anywhere far from the Gulf shoreline.
