CNU-SP is a Brazilian educational television channel from Sao Paulo, created as a consortium that brings the city's universities together on one shared frequency. Launched in November 1997 as the first project of its kind in Brazil, it offers viewers who watch TV online or over cable a window into academic life, research and culture.

The channel operates as a condominium of universities, with each member institution contributing its own station's output to a common grid. Rather than a single broadcaster, the airtime belongs to the campuses, so the schedule shifts from one institution to another throughout the day. In Sao Paulo the signal reaches homes through Claro TV channel 11 and Vivo TV channel 10.

From Lecture Halls to Live Airwaves

The daily lineup is built from educational content produced inside the universities themselves: recorded lectures, panel debates, interviews with researchers and documentaries covering science, health and the humanities. Live coverage of academic ceremonies, conferences and public events adds an immediate, on-campus feel to the broadcast.

Four Campuses, One Screen

The rotating schedule features shows from member stations such as TV PUC, TV Unesp and TV Unip, alongside TV Zumbi, whose series and features take turns across the day. All content carries a free classification, making the channel suitable for family viewing and for online television audiences of any age.

CNU-SP live streaming extends this academic signal beyond cable, since the consortium's own free streaming platform carries the university broadcasts around the clock together with on-demand content, so a lecture missed in the morning can still be caught up with at night.
